4th of July Pet Safety Tips

The 4th of July can be a stressful time for our four-legged friends. Here’s how to help your pup stay calm and comfy!

  • Keep dogs inside during fireworks
  • Double-check collars and microchip info
  • Provide distractions: puzzle toys or frozen treats can help keep them busy during fireworks
  • Play soothing music or turn on the TV
  • Create a cozy, quiet safe space
  • Skip glow sticks-- they look fun but can be toxic if chewed.

Beat The Heat: Summer Safety fo Your Dog

The summer sun is no joke! We're mindful of the heat here at Pooch, and here's what you can do at home too!

  • Test pavement with your hand-- if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for paws!
  • Bring water everywhere and encourage frequent breaks.
  • Watch for signs of heatstroke (excessive panting, drooling, lethargy)

At Pooch Playhouse, we make sure pups stay cool with shaded yards, fresh water around the clock, and indoor rest breaks Whether your dog is here for the day or a longer stay, they'll be safe and comfy.
